This April, NC Massage School is pleased to host a two-day class entitled SeniorSpa. This two-part class, which offers up to 14 CEs, provides attendees with the skills and knowledge they need to better serve elderly patients and clients.
Seniors are a growing demographic for the massage therapist. As the population continues to age and medical technology increases the lifespan for the average American, seniors are turning to massage therapy to help with recovery after surgery, general pain control and simple quality of life. These individuals require specialized care that the massage therapist needs to learn, and that is why North Carolina Massage School is hosting this continue education class.
Sheila Alexander to Teach the Class
SeniorSpa will be taught by Sheila Alexander, licensed North Carolina massage therapist. Sheila graduated from SunCoast School of Natural Health in 1993 and currently works for The Pines at Davidson, where she developed a massage program for the residents in 2004. Her passion for helping seniors through massage therapy began when she cared for her parents as they suffered through Alzheimer’s and cancer.
Sheila’s expertise in the field of senior car has earned her recognition in the massage therapy world. She was featured in the Charlotte Observer and on NBC-TV for her skills as a massage therapist. She brings those skills to the classroom for the SeniorSpa courses.
